WWWBoard Frequently Asked Questions
(and Answers)

Q. Why did you pick WWWBoard instead of something else?

A. Why not? It's a good program! Many people are already used to this Web Board format. It's written in a programming language I understand (Perl) so I can modify it if needed!

WWWBoard doesn't require a Java enabled browser and hardly loads the servers here!

Q. Can I place html tags anywhere in my posts?

A. No. You can only use HTML tags in the body of the message. You will need to exercise care when doing a cut and
paste of HTML code from another document since the message input box expects text and interprets spaces and
carraige returns as the start of a new line of code!

Q. Why are there colons in the message when I try to post a followup?

A. Colons appear in the message dialog box when you try to followup up on a message to indicate that those lines are
quoting the previous document. Please don't quote a mess of HTML code with your reply! And don't over quote! I
may need to turn off the quoting feature later!

Q. Why didn't my post show up?

A. Your post most likely did not show up, because your browser did not reload the page, it simply pulled it out of cache.
Please reload your browser and it should then appear.

Q. Why do I get an "Access Denied" Message when I try to post something?

A. Because either you, someone who was using the IP address you currently have, or someone from your class B or C IP block has abused this service and has caused you to be banned indefinitely. If you think there is a mistake,  then contact us, and we will consider your request for removing the ban.

Q. Why hasn't anybody answered my question(s)?

A. Maybe you need to be a little more creative or else more patient. We don't guarentee any results here!

Q. Where can I get the scripts for this program?

A. This script is an improved version of Matt Wright's Script. The scripts are written in Perl and created by Matt Wright. They are free to anyone who wishes to use them and you can get them as well as other scripts at: http://worldwidemart.com/scripts/. Enjoy!

Parts of this board (The Search Function for one) come from a complete open source fix made by people like www.cyberarmy.com, Epicurus, and Ken Williams. The patched code is codenamed 'The Mr.Fong Device'. You will find the source for this improved script at Cyberarmy
